Aaron Jones Sr. or Cam Skattebo: Who Should You Start?

The call

• The projection (14.4) and the consensus rank (RB35) disagree, and the usage data explains why: 46% snaps means Jones is splitting the backfield, not carrying it.
• A 4% target share is the real problem in PPR — there's no receiving floor to fall back on if the early-down work goes for 45 yards.
• Matchup is neutral at 18 of 32 vs RBs, and that composite is a 1-game sample with 0.00 confidence, so it shouldn't move the needle either way.
• A 21.0 implied team total with a 3.5-point spread points to a tight, moderate-scoring game — fine for touches, not a script that guarantees goal-line volume. Start him if your alternative is a clear bench body; sit him for any RB with a pass-game role.

The call

• Role is the case: 61% snap share and, per PFF, he ran the ball more often than any other Giant in the opener, scoring a touchdown — that's the backfield's primary carry share.
• RB20 at 12.8 projected PPR is a starting-caliber number in 12-team leagues; a middling matchup (14 of 32 DvP, 1-game sample) doesn't change that.
• Game script is the drag — 8.5-point dog with a 20.0 implied total caps the volume ceiling, and a 0% target share means he offers almost nothing in the passing game to offset a deficit.
• Risk to monitor: he fumbled in the opener (67.4 PFF grade), so a second one could chip away at the workload that makes him startable.
