Toray Pan Pacific Open - Tokyo

🇯🇵 Tokyo · 2022 · 9/19

HardWTA 500

A WTA 500 on outdoor hard in Tokyo, with Wuhan and Ningbo inside the same fortnight. The court is neutral rather than extreme and the balance shows: holds sit at 66%, aces are scarce and returners get regular looks, with only three fifths of matches ending in straights. Nothing hands anyone a free point, so the clean baseliner beats the big server. Zhang has four titles here.
