Estoril Open - Estoril

An ATP 250 on outdoor clay in Estoril, in the summer clay group with Bastad, Gstaad and Umag. The clay plays slower than these players are used to and the serve earns almost nothing: holds sit at 70%, aces are rare and tiebreaks hardly happen because a break arrives first. Barely half of matches finish in straights, which is as open as the clay season gets. Grinders profit.
