How MMA Patterns Are Selected
A fight shows up here when a posted market lines up with how both fighters' recent UFC fights have gone. Each fighter needs at least 3 counted UFC fights, and every rate reads their last 5.
Goes the Distance: Yes
- Both fighters went the distance in at least 70% of their last 5 counted fights (4 of 5, 3 of 4 or 3 of 3).
Goes the Distance: No
- Both fighters' fights ended inside the distance in at least 70% of their last 5 counted fights.
Total Rounds
- Over: both fighters' fights went past the posted line in at least 70% of their last 5 fights of the same scheduled length where that line could be reached.
- Under: both fighters' fights stayed under it in at least 70% of them.
- A card shows a rounds line or a distance line, never both for one fight.
KO/TKO
- The fighter has at least 2 KO/TKO wins in their last 5, and the opponent has at least 2 KO/TKO losses in theirs.
Submission
- The fighter has at least 2 submission wins in their last 5.
Decision
- The fighter has at least 3 decision wins in their last 5, and the opponent's last 5 went the distance at least 60% of the time.
- At most one KO/TKO, submission or decision card per fight, the higher rate. A tie shows neither.
What Counts
- UFC fights in our records since 2008, Road to UFC included.
- A disqualification counts as a KO/TKO.
- A draw or a no contest is not counted.
- A fighter making their UFC debut is never carded, so neither is their fight.
- A card needs a posted price for its side.
Patterns are automated recent-form trends: how these fighters' fights have tended to go, measured against the average UFC fight, not against the market. No historical MMA lines exist yet to test them against a price. They are not predictions. Cards change as lines post and as the card changes.
